Kindergarten Registration Opens for Westport Public Schools

Westport Public Schools:

The 2022-2023 Kindergarten Registration is underway. If your child turns five years of age on or before January 1, 2023, please register him/her as soon as possible. Registering now allows the District to optimally plan for your new kindergartener. Guardians are invited to attend a virtual informational meeting about Kindergarten in Westport on March 16 from 9:30-10:30. Families can access this Zoom webinar. We will send a link for this webinar at a later date.

In May, an orientation session will occur at your child’s elementary school. At that time, you will have an opportunity to hear more details about Kindergarten from kindergarten teachers and other staff members. A school specific invitation will be sent to all registered kindergarten families. If you are unsure about the elementary school your child should attend, please go to our school locator website.

Westport COVID-19 Cases Up 10; State Hospitalizations Dip Below 1,000 Patients for the First Time in Weeks

The State Department of Public Health reported 10 new COVID-19 cases for Westport over the past 24 hours. The State’s daily test positivity rate was up to 8.68% while hospitalizations were down as 56 more patients were released from hospitals, allowing statewide hospitalizations to be below 1000 for the first time in several weeks. 54.10% of those hospitalized are not fully vaccinated.

Westport total positive or probable cases: 3,638 cases.
Westport total COVID-19 Deaths: 34 deaths
State Daily Test Positivity: 8.68% [up from 7.33%]
State Hospitalizations: 995 patients [-56]
