Staples Girls Basketball Falls to Stamford
The Wreckers were defeated by the Black Knights on Tuesday by the score of 39 to 27. Stamford's strong defense held the Staples girls to just two points in the first quarter. Staples was held to nine points or less in each of the next four quarters, and an attempt to rally in the fourth was to no avail.

Police Searching for Missing Westport Man; UPDATE: Found Safe
Westport Police UPDATE: On February 11, 2022, Anthony Cochrane was located out of state, unharmed.
On February 10, 2022, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the Westport Police Department began a missing person investigation. Anthony Cochrane, a 21-year-old man, was last seen around 3:45 p.m on Sunday, February 6. He was dropped off near the Saugatuck Train Station and was last seen going into Romanacci’s. His family said that he was getting a train and may have been headed to New York City or Washington, D.C., however it is not confirmed he has left the area.
The missing person, Anthony Cochrane is Caucasian, approx. 6’2”, weighs roughly 175 lbs., and has short brown hair. He was last seen wearing black jeans, a black puffy North Face jacket, and a Patagonia backpack containing camera equipment.
Due to the length of his absence and the family’s lack of communication with him, they are concerned for his well-being.

Police Respond to Early Morning Car Theft; Keys Were in Vehicle
Westport Police Department:At approximately 7:40 a.m. today, Westport Police officers responded to 285 Post Road East on a report of a stolen car. The complainant explained that he parked his car in the lot at 7:00 a.m. and when he returned forty minutes later it was gone. The car had been left unlocked with the key fob inside. As the officers were responding to this incident, the emergency communications center received a call about a car accident in the parking lot of 500 Post Road East. It was quickly discovered that the car that was stolen and the one involved in the accident were the same.
The stolen car was no longer occupied when officers arrived at the accident scene. With the assistance of K-9s from both Norwalk and Darien the area was searched, but the suspects were not located.
As the above incident was unfolding, the police department received a report that a wallet was stolen from a vehicle parked at 400 Post Road East. The car had been left unlocked.
The Westport Police are actively investigating these incidents.
Once again, the police department cannot stress enough the importance of keeping your vehicle locked at all times. Additionally, should you happen to witness a person stealing or burglarizing a car do not intervene as in some instances these individuals are armed. Instead, immediately notify the police.
