United Methodist Church Accepting Item Donations during March 5th Drive
The United Methodist Church of Westport and Weston, 49 Weston Road, Westport, will be hosting a clothing, toiletries, and non-perishable food drive for our neighbors in Bridgeport.
This contactless donation drive will be held on Saturday, March 5, from 10 – 2 at the church at 49 Weston Road. Volunteers will be at the front entrance of the church to gather your donations from your car trunk.
Gently used or new clothing items especially needed:
•Children – Clothing in all sizes
•Women – Clothing sizes 4 to 16
Purses/Accessories
Shoes
•Men – Clothing medium and large
Waist size for pants – 32 to 36
Shoe sizes 7 to 10
•Outerwear in all sizes
Toiletries especially needed:
•Toothpaste
•Toothbrushes
•Deodorant
•Soap
•Shampoo
•Body Lotions
Food items especially needed:
•Peanut butter and jelly (plastic jars only)
•Canned ham, tuna, and chicken
•Boxed macaroni and cheese
•Cold and hot cereals
•Hearty soups
•Canned vegetables and fruit

United Nations Association of Connecticut Announces Scholarship Opportunities for High School Seniors
The United Nations Association of Connecticut: The United Nations Association of Connecticut has announced that at least three scholarships will be available to Connecticut graduating high school seniors this year. Dr Joseph Baxer, President of the Connecticut Chapter emphasized the scholarship goals to encourage and support students with a demonstrated interest in promoting peace through work in international relations and diplomatic service and to cultivate an understanding of, and support for, the work of the United Nations in the United States.

Westport COVID-19 Cases Up 21; State Positivity Rate 3.32% as 61 Patients Released from Hospitals
The State Department of Public Health reported 21 new COVID-19 cases for Westport over the weekend. The State’s daily test positivity rate was down to 3.32% while hospitalizations were down as 61 more patients were released from hospitals.
Westport total positive or probable cases: 3,762 cases.
Westport total COVID-19 Deaths: 35 deaths
State Daily Test Positivity: 3.32% [down from 4.94%]
State Hospitalizations: 406 patients [-61]
