Local Students: Join The Westport Local Press; Limited Internship Spaces Available

Summer Internship Picture.png

As The Westport Local Press begins its next phase in publishing the news and views of Westport, we are seeking highly motivated and talented young people to join our community-based team in its first summer internship program.

  • These are remote positions, with the option to attend in-person meetings or trainings that follow the most up-to-date health guidelines.

  • Interns will be supplied with a press pass as an accredited member of The Westport Local Press team to be worn while on assignment.

  • Timing is flexible - as the news cycle is, too. You will pick your own hours and days to work unless specific events require a member of the press to be present.

  • Internship positions are unpaid, as The Westport Local Press is managed by a pro-bono team.

  • All work created will be published with your name and the biographical information that you choose. All work will be owned by its creator.

  • Long-term paid and pro-bono positions are available to those who show dedication and progress during their internship period.

Please fill out this application. If you have any questions: please contact the Executive Editor, Jaime Bairaktaris, for assistance. Application period ends Monday, May 10th.

The Westport Local Press is proud to continue the tradition of community-based news in Westport, Connecticut and is grateful for the support of its viewers.
